Sanjay Dutt’s verdict-shock or justice????

Sanjay Dutt’s verdict has come out as quite a shock to many. There are various opinions about this case and many feel that this is quite a shocker to Bollywood industry.

Before we even get into the right, and what is moral, Let us look at the case and why he was, convicted. Sanjay was detained for 16 months in the year 1993 for possession of weapons that were given to him by Dawood. The public prosecutor and this year fought the case and to be precise this month Judge Kode gave him a 6-year imprisonment. They also cancelled the bail plea. SO, at the end of the day the Law proved to be stronger in the country of India.

Was it a right thing to do? Is it not a harsh punishment for someone who already lived through hell from 1993 until day? Was his time spent in and outside prison waiting to hear the judgment not enough? Well these are the questions for a hot debate in the country today. Let us look at it from the crime point of view. If a person interacts with criminals and has keen ties with them and helps them by keeping the weapons at his place. These Dawood’s blast an entire city and took almost 200 lives’s, .No matter what or who he/she is, the have convicted a crime and are to be punished for the grieve offence. As judge, Kode said, “I must say for every citizen, Laws of nation shall be respected. If you don’t, I don’t except you to be called a moral person”. This is so true, Sanjay was a fav star and he had immense respect among film fraternity and otherwise. However, at the end of the day, he did not respect the law and he got what anyone would deserve. I personally love the star and hope he gets out soon. However, is he eligible for the punishment? I would say anyone for that matter would have to be given the same.

The crime committed by Sanjay did not cause any human lives, nor did it cause any harm to normal life. However, he did involve another person to demolish the weapons and made him turn into a criminal. Which according to the judge is “high element of criminality”?

Now the Indian film industry especially Bollywood has to suffer loss over 100 cores after the judgment was passed. The loss can be made up by producing few other movies; however, it is sure that there was clear statement sent out to those who commit crimes at every level or status. Many have opinions about this. “Some immaturity must have landed him in this,” said Asha bhosle. She went on to say this does not make Sanjay a traitor. Chunky Pandey wanted to cry when he heard the verdict. “He is incapable of sitting there and plotting a terror,” said Tanuja Chandra. The people who lost their loved ones too had the same opinion. Therefore, he is a human who was lost somewhere as all of us are at times, possessed a gun, and then later tired to destroy it for his own safety.

Most of us too often try to hide the crimes that we do, in order to protect ourselves. This time however, it involved a high gangster and a city called Mumbai. Therefore, the nation got to peek into the private life of the actor and got to make its decision based on the gravity of the situation. In the stars, own words when Simi asked, “Is it strange fate that makes you go through one ordeal after other”? He replies saying,” maybe I am the chosen one”. It is quite a tough act to be going through the bad times and given 6 years plus 16 months earlier. My opinion about him is as much as I know from channels, and movies. It is always said that he is a man of kindness and great integrity. So hope, he comes out and gets to live life peacefully with his loved ones and the ordeal is left behind in the walls of the prison.

The whole judiciary came into question when man called Abhimanyu Altekar, filed an Interveners application. The police in a false case falsely arrested this man. Altekar said that the bail that was approved earlier was because Sanjay said that he was the only earning member of the family. He said that Sanjay was on bail for 12 years and he must have made enough to support the family for the rest of their lives. He also said that sanjay was matured enough to know that he was buying illegal weapons and that is why he did not deserve a less stat in the jail. This petition was rejected; however, this did raise lots of question about the Indian judiciary system. However, at the end, another judge gave this man, his judgment called Kode, and at the end, more power to law.
